Among the artists of BeatPick a star is shining: Kate Zenna the singer of Ponte Claire
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

BeatPick.com has recently extended their roster of artists with a fresh american electro-pop band, the Pointe Claire which draws the crowd on radios all over the world. You might think “what’s the news”? It is Kate Zenna, singer of the group, who also has a steady acting career behind her.
She has recently completed filming the FOX 2000 feature “Ramona and Beezus” and is known in Canada for her leading role in Canadian Alliance/Atlantis Feature “Jack and Jill” which garnered her a Best Supporting Actress Genie nomination. Zenna has had recurring, and guest, roles in acclaimed Canadian U.S films and tv projects such as A&E’s “Nero Wolfe”, Showtime’s “Street Time”, Global’s “Train 48″, CTV’s “Twice in a Lifetime”, ABC’s “Brothers ans Sisters” and CBS’s “Eleventh Hour”. Her career has lead Kate to work opposite acclaimed stars such as Susan Sarandon, William Hurt, Matthew Modine and Timothy Huttr among others.
In 2007 Kate Zenna met Jonathon Fessenden, a guitarist and composer from Los Angeles. Between the two of them an artistic collaboration was born which lead to the creation of a series of electro-pop songs and their music has, since then, been described as “soothing, soulful and sultry”. They founded together Point Claire. They have recently released their first CD “I asked for you…First” which was sold out the first week at the famous Amoeba Music in Hollywood.
Pointe Claire has, since the beginning, received support from the public and from the critics: “From irresistible beats to angelic vocals that will easily retain your attention. They’re not building on someone else’s idea, this is new music, plain and simple” could be read at Penseyeview.com in November 2008.
In 2008, Pointe Claire’s single, “Sweet Takeover”, was featured in the indie film “Porn Star”. They also had the song “Gorgeous” featured in the indie shortfilm “A long slow goodbye”. In April 2009, Pointe Claire placed a close second in the U.K’s Offthechartradio.com’s online talent competition. Their music is now in roation at the station with DJ’s loving Point Claire.

BeatPick.com music licensing news, pt.1: sexy sports from Tretorn.

Here’s some exciting music licensing news from BeatPick.com! 4 tracks from our catalogue have been licensed by Puma for the new Tretorn internet campaign. The four videos they were licensed for bring a new stylish and erotic-charged outlook on four sports that are usually conceived as pretty old fashioned. Useless to say, they’re hyper-cool and we’re really proud to have provided music for such high quality projects!
In the first video our very own North American Reggae Guru Cryout’s “Jacobs Ladder” brings a touch of Jamaican joy to the improbable antics of…. Wellie wanging?!?
Video number two associates Italian experimental trio IM ANITa’s groovy “Domenico N8″ with the noble British sport that is croquet.
For the Italian sport bocce, the choice instead fell on the Reggae-Pop sunny melody of The Juice To Make It Happen’s “Count My Sins”.
Last but not least, just hear for yourself how sexy badmington sounds with AndreaLoko’s “Ottobre come Marzo” as a soundtrack!
