We just received the news that one of our artists, Cobol Pongide, have published a video clip of the song “La prima volta in tecnicolor“, which means “the first time in tecnicolor”. From this week on, until next Friday (6 November), we highlight in the Artist Spotlight section on our website a very valuable artist of ours, that is, Giorgio Costantini. Giorgio was born in Venice and in his career he performed as a keyboard player in more than 1200 concerts for Italian artists. Amongst his most notable foreign performances are the concert in the Royal Albert Hall (1987) and the 2 big concerts he gave in the “National Concert Hall Theatre” in Tapei and at the “Cultural Center Chih-Deh Hall” in Koahsiung. With over 600.000 listeners on his Italian and English Myspace and over 200.000 personal visits on his personal website,  he reached to be the number one in the italian “Top Myspace Charts” and the fifth position in the US Myspace charts.  As a keyboard player he has played all around the world and has participated in the production of over 25 albums with various artists; albums which have won a total of 23 golden disc awards. His newest album “PianoPianoForte-remastered” was released last year and became the 7th most downloaded album in the classification of “Top Album of iTunes” and his single “Elegia” even arrived at first position in the Italian “iTunes Singles”! So please take a minute and listen to this great musician!

As we keep on developing and growing at BeatPick, we are pleased to announce the collaboration with the Piemonte Share Festival! The goal of Piemonte Share’s festival is to create real opportunities (exhibitions, events, workshops, seminars and productions) for the development of knowledge and creativity in digital culture, the growth of research and innovation in the field of visual arts, interaction design, internet, IT, graphic design and interactive installations. BeatPick and the festival have partnered up and BeatPick will  also distribute promotional materials during the event. Make sure you will take a look as the entrance is for free!

The festival will be held from the 3rd until the 8th of November in Torino, Italy. For more info we would like to refer you to the Share website.

One of our artists, namely singer-songwriter Jamie Lynn Noon, has been nominated for the Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) for her original song, “Second of a Spark”. The Hollywood Music in Media Awards recognizes and honors the music in visual mediums, the talented individuals responsible for it, and the music of both mainstream and independent artists from around the globe for their compositions and recordings in all forms of media including film, TV, video games, commercial advertisements, movie trailers and music videos. We are very happy for Jamie and wish her good luck with possibly winning this great prize!

The Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) will be presented Thursday, November 19th, 2009 at The Highlands in the world famous Hollywood & Highlands / Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, CA. This is Jamie’s first HMMA nomination. “Second of a Spark” was released on January 27th, 2009 on the debut EP, A Moment to Break.

We are happy to announce that after a lot of hard work, our people have made a great deal with Ustation, licensing music (which might involve you!), for a show called “Universication” on Italian National Television. It will be the first time that music licensed under Creative Commons will be used on Italian national television and about 130 tracks, which all come out of BeatPicks catalog, are broadcasted for 12 episodes and credits appear MTV-style. The national TV channel, La7, airs the show and they are considered to be the third main Italian network station, which guarantees major publicity for all involved artists!

From September until this Christmas, the show Universication is aired and most likely the show will run for 3 seasons. Ustation, an Italian University Media station, produces the show in a new format and each episode will be shot in a different university.  The aim of the show is for students to discover, how university radio and TV works and how they can represent students’ dreams and ambitions. BeatPick will be the exclusive supplier of the music for the entire show!
