Amigaman in the Artist Spotlight!

This week the honor of the Artist Spotlight goes to the British band Amigaman. The band has played numerous shows in and around London with indie rock bands and urban acts. Their dirty breaks and infectious melodies lead the songs in this bass heavy mix of cool guitars and scratching. Mashing up different genres has been the aim of this band; fusing new technologies with old school flavors, lyrics and melodies to make songs that are deep and funky, with a modern approach of making everything sound huge and slamming.
The members of Amigaman have been constantly in the studio writing and recording energetic beat driven songs to play on stages around the UK, using their quirky old equipment combined with cutting edge approaches. We are happy to announce our new Artist of Week, an indie rock band from Miami (Florida) called Ex Norwegian! The band participated in the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City and released two singles: the irresistible Shins-styled folk-pop “Something Unreal” and “Dance Trance Pants” on vinyl which falls neatly somewhere in between The Killers and 70s glam epitomized by bands like T. Rex. The group’s youthful energy and sound is described as an “…eclectic mix of powerpop, shoegaze, indie rock, and even hints of stoner rock” by Exploding In Sound. Their full length “Standby” was released in spring 2009 on their label Dying Van Gogh. Take a look right now in our section “artist spotlight” to listen to this great music!
