For the gamers among us we would like to tell you that another one of our tracks has been licensed for an  iTunes app called Radio Flare Redux. The application Radio Flare REDUX is a highly stylized side-scrolling shoot-’em-up that makes exceptional use of your iPod touch or iPhone’s multi-touch capabilities, not to mention its headphone socket. The musical gameplay experience is that you have to play to the beat as your ship moves and shoots in rhythm. Target enemies and see them pulsate and explode to the beat of each song. The game is available in 5 different languages and you can buy/read about it here .

Richtaste is the very well known band from Switzerland that includes Marc Gasser, Roger Vez, Raphael Nussbaum, Reto Gasser and Stefan Fankhauser. Their 2 albums had a great amount of radio plays in the United States due to the Sunset Records label picking up the CDs for the rest of the world outside Switzerland and Germany.

“When I hear our songs today, I really feel we could not be better in a better place today,” says singer and songwriter Stefan Fankhauser. “Our sound has more eggs (nuts) than before! Our expectations were not met,” admits Fankhauser and relates to the new support the band has in place that has opened up their musical ideas and the production pieces it all together perfect. “We were busy with the production for so much time, that we already were filled up to the top with new ideas when releasing” Frankhauser says. Unapologetically the five now dare to face also critical issues. Richtaste knows that light and shadow in the real world are as close together as in the show business.

As we stay in Eastern Europe, we would like to introduce you to Proteus Noir, an electronic music band formed just a few years ago in Slovenia.

The frontman, Anze Iglicar, was disappointed about the development of popular electro genres and started to seek for a new sound. After a period of music experimenting, cooperating with various musicians and genre-trips, Anze joined his ideas and inspiration with Dejan a former guitarist of a local punk-rock-ska band Pudding Fields. A period was followed by a creative and interesting year in a studio with Anze, working on a music project that could fulfill an empty space in their music life. The third band-member, Aleks,  is an industrial designer and a musician with an inspiration bigger than the world he lives in.

Together they form Proteus Noir and make great Electro & Electronic Rock music, check them out here!

We wanted to introduce you guys to a new promotion-tool which our web-developer has created for the non-commercial projects. With this tool, our artists will profit and obtain more promotion from the non-commercial license. It works as follows: At the moment a person has licensed a track for a non-commercial purpose, in the end of the process there’s the option to post the Track and Artist in 1 message to the clients’ Twitter and Facebook account. By connecting through the system to FB/Twitter and posting the message (in just 2 steps!) on his/her profile, the artists of the track have actually swapped their Music for Promotion!

From today on, you will be able to search music in your own language. A new feature has been installed at Beatpick.com which enables you to search in the 52 main world languages. If you, for example, type in the Keywords or Song Topics-field the English word “Love”, which is equal to the Italian “Amore” and Dutch “Liefde” the system provides you with the same results. Indeed, very convenient!

We are proud to announce that Beatpick has accepted and activated today her 300th artist. Number 300 is the artist Modfunk, with his Electro & Electronic Rock music, Modfunk had a guest appearance by the French super-group Cassius and John Webb from the U.S. formation Love Meets Lust.

It is the beginning of a new year and we have chosen to start the year energetic with one of our modern electronic bands Fake Elegance! Since their inception in 2005, Fake Elegance managed to earn the reputation of the live band playing positively charged and energetic music. In the beginning of summer 2008 the band’s “Beautiful Morning” track became the morning hit and climbed to the highest places in Eastern Europe radio charts.

Despite the clear hint of pop in their songs, Fake Elegance don’t associate themselves with the mass pop culture. Fake Elegance creatively combine modern electronic-synth sounding with expressive-delicate piano roulades, punchy-tasty rock guitar riffs, and sexy-charming female pop vocals. From today on 2 of our artists, to be exact The Words and the Studioband Headliner, will be introduced and shown for 8 weeks in a row at the Mercedes Benz website in the section Mixed Tape. We are happy to be a part of it as Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape is one of the most successful legal music download platforms in the world since the launch in 2004. This week we would like to introduce to you Melissa Moshé, it all began when a cocktail waitress and a bar realized they had more in common than just drinking. Melissa Moshé & Tom Mandulak met as co-workers in 2002 at a bar in the East Village of New York City. Tom had just started playing cello and Melissa had casually written a couple of songs – so it seemed completely reasonable that they start a band.  After many years of playing together, Melissa & Tom were forced to separate due to geographical differences – Tom still resides in New York City and in late September 2005 Melissa returned home to Los Angeles. Melissa is very happy to announce that her first full-length album  is FINALLY done!! The debut album is titled “small world for left hands” and we would like to invite you to listen to this great lounge, relaxed music here!

And as expected a “Best of” show of the Universication show has be compiled and will be aired this Sunday the 13th of December. We are happy that we were involved in this project and would like to say to the involved artists that they can expect a newsletter one of these days regarding the details of this show. Hopefully you all enjoyed the show and of course we keep you updated when there are plans for a follow-up Universication show.
