The object of the event will be to explore whether the term of copyright protection on sound recordings should stay at 50 years or be extended.
The Open Rights Group believes that term extension is such an important issue that it deserves focused and rigourous discussion. What they’s done has been to invite people from a number of backgrounds in order to get a better understanding of the different thoughts and opinions on the subject.
Anyone who is interested and will be in the area should definitely think of heading down. Registration for the event is free but places are limited so it would probably be wise to book sooner rather than later.
Hope to see y’all there!
